Popular Gay Neighborhoods
Fort Lauderdale Florida
Welcome to my guide to popular Gay Friendly Neighborhoods Fort Lauderdale Florida.
Fort Lauderdale has many well known gay friendly areas including: North Beach and the “sister” cities of Wilton Manors/Oakland Park
Within Greater Fort Lauderdale there are also many other popular “up and coming” Gay and LGBT friendly neighborhoods also and these include: Hallandale Beach, Pompano Beach, Sea Ranch Lakes and Lauderdale Lakes
Fort Lauderdale is a diverse city and as such neighborhoods can change dramatically in just a few short blocks.
As a gay realtor here is my guide to the different neighborhoods here in Fort Lauderdale and Greater Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale Beach and North Beach as shown in the map below is very popular with the gay and LGBT community.
The area is undergoing a tremendous transformation
North Beach Village located just south of Sunrise Blvd. and north of Las Olas Blvd has one of the largest collections of Mid-Century Modern Architecture buildings in all of Fort Lauderdale – many of these buildings have been/are being totally updated – while keeping their mid century charm.
Fort Lauderdale is supporting the redevelopment of the area – with new zoning laws encouraging retail and restaurants/cafes.
North Beach seems set to become one of the “Hottest” Gay Neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale – as did South Beach in Miami.
If you love the beach and the “vibe” of city life with all its dining and entertainment options – then North is well worth exploring.
Wilton Manors / Oakland Park
Wilton Manors is one of the Gayest Cities in the USA as is it’s “sister” city Oakland Park.
Both city of Wilton Manors and Oakland Park are supporting the redevelopment of their main streets – with plans for less traffic and more pedestrian friendly tree lined spaces and new zoning laws encouraging the expansion of retail and restaurants/cafes.
Wilton Manors / Oakland Park have the highest concentration of Gay and LGBT per head of population in all of Ft Lauderdale – appealing to those buyers who are looking to move into “the centre of the gay community” here in Ft Lauderdale.

Increasingly buyers are looking a Pompano and Pompano Beach – the reason is “affordability” combined with nice neighborhood(s) and homes / condominiums.
Pompano Beach has many waterfront homes and condo complexes too – adding to its overall appeal.
The proximity of Pompano Beach to Wilton Drive and Sebastian Beach makes this neighborhood attractive to the Gay and LGBT community.
Sea Ranch Lakes
Sea Ranch Lakes is an enclave within Lauderdale by the Sea.
While this community has the reputation of being an older community – this is rapidly changing.
The Sea Ranch Lakes community offers resort style oceanfront living a very attractive prices. The community of Sea Ranch offers 3 heated pools, 8 tennis courts and 3 beach patio bars.
The beachfront location is superb, the units are well designed and when updated can look sensational!
With its own shopping Plaza close at hand and being so close to downtown Ft Lauderdale and Wilton Drive – these units are hard to beat.
If you looking to be one of the new entrants to what many predict will eventually be a very popular Gay Friendly beach resort community – Sea Ranch Lakes could be it.
Lauderdale Lakes offers a series of gated condo communities – including some lake front communities.
Many of these condominium communities are very gay friendly and are very popular with the gay and LGBT community.
The primary appeal of these units is price, amenities, location and the fact that they are gated.
Lauderdale Lakes is just minutes from Wilton Drive and less than 10-15 minutes to the beaches, Las Olas and more.
The choices range from mid-century complexes to more modern complexes – and the range and size of units from studios to 2 bedroom 2 bathroom units gives plenty of choice.
If you are on a budget and want to be here in Fort Lauderdale and are looking for popular gay and LGBT friendly communities then complexes and condos in Lauderdale Lakes are a must see.
I hope you have enjoyed my post on some of the most popular Fort Lauderdale Gay Friendly Neighborhoods.
